What a visit covers
A standard maintenance visit is mowing and edging, weeding the beds, pruning and hedging what needs it, tidying up and taking the green waste away. Beyond that it is whatever the yard actually needs — weed spraying, mulching, planting, a reticulation check, clearing out a bed that has got ahead of itself.
We agree what is being done on the first visit and stick to it, so you know what you are getting and what it costs each time rather than finding out afterwards.
Regular, seasonal or one-off
Fortnightly suits a yard with lawn through the growing season, when grass genuinely gets away in three weeks. Monthly works for a smaller garden or through the cooler months. Seasonal — a few visits a year at the points where things need cutting back — suits a low-maintenance native garden that mostly looks after itself.
A one-off tidy-up is equally fine and there is no expectation that it becomes something regular. There is no lock-in contract, no minimum term, and no cancellation process beyond telling us.
Yard clean-ups, including the ones that have got away
A full clean-up is a different job from a maintenance visit: clearing overgrowth, cutting back what has taken over, weeding properly rather than tidying, removing rubbish and green waste, and leaving the yard at a point where regular maintenance can hold it.
If the garden has got away a bit, that is an ordinary job and not an unusual one. It is a common reason people call — after an illness, after a tenant, after a summer where it simply got ahead of everybody — and there is nothing to apologise for. It is easier for us than you might think, and it is genuinely satisfying work.
Mulching, weeding and what actually keeps a garden down
On sand, mulch does more than look tidy. A decent layer holds moisture in the root zone, moderates soil temperature, and suppresses a great deal of the weed growth that would otherwise need pulling every fortnight. It breaks down over time and needs topping up, which is a good use of a seasonal visit.
Weed spraying has its place for large areas and hard surfaces, and hand weeding has its place in a planted bed where spraying would take out what you want to keep. Most gardens need some of both.

What affects the cost
For a regular visit it comes down to the size of the yard, how much of it is lawn versus bed, and how often we come. A fortnightly visit on a well-kept garden is quicker and cheaper per visit than a monthly one where six weeks of growth has to come off.
For a clean-up, it is the volume of material coming out and how difficult it is to get to. Green waste has real disposal cost, and a yard where everything has to be carried through a house or a narrow side gate takes longer than one with rear access.
One-off jobs price differently from regular ones, since a regular round is more efficient for us and that is reflected in what it costs.

Common questions
Is there a contract?
No. No lock-in, no minimum term, no cancellation process. If you want to stop or change how often we come, tell us and that is the whole procedure.
How often should I have the garden done?
Fortnightly through the growing season if there is lawn, monthly for a smaller or cooler-season garden, seasonal for a low-maintenance native yard. We would rather suggest what your garden actually needs than sell you the most frequent option.
My garden has really got away. Is that a problem?
Not at all, and it is a common call. A clean-up is its own job — we clear it back to a point where regular maintenance can hold it, take everything away, and there is nothing to be embarrassed about.
Do you take the clippings?
Yes, every visit. You are not left with a pile on the verge or a bin you cannot close.
Can you look after my parent's garden and deal with me?
